FOR BEST NON-FINANCIAL CARD DESIGN

Company Recognized by ICMA for the Sixth Consecutive Year

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ, October 16, 2002 - QualTeq Inc., a leading Visa/MasterCard® manufacturer, announced today that-for the sixth consecutive year-it was presented with an Élan Award by the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA), a global non-profit association for card manufacturers. QualTeq was a finalist in the Best Non-Financial Card Design category for a translucent metallic and pearl gift card it produced on behalf of a retail customer. ICMA released the results at the Sixth Annual Élan Awards for Card Manufacturing Excellence held Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at ICMA's 11th Annual Card Manufacturing EXPO, Vancouver, BC, Canada. QualTeq also receives a duplicate award to provide to its customer.

QualTeq manufactured the card using translucent corestock and hot stamped foil. The clear corestock, in conjunction with silk screen metallic and pearl inks, created a distinctive appearance using offset lithography to image the graphics. QualTeq chose to use hot stamped silver foil to highlight the customer's logo, along with holographic and metallic tinted foil to create a look that complemented the design.
