Card Selection

When selecting a card, first review the three popular thicknesses—20, 24 and 30 mil. Your choice should be determined by how important your customer is to you, the card application and what the client expects to see in a high-quality transaction, membership or identification card.

The 20 mil thickness provides the lowest cost for a high quality product This thickness offers less weight for economical mailing. It can be embossed, flat-card printed, on-surface printed and protective-coated. This thickness is also the best card when a promotional card for identification only, or when the card is not expected to last more than a year.

Elite

The 24 mil thickness provides an economical cost for a higher grade product. It is light and costs less to mail. However, this thickness allows more versatility for added features, including lamination on both sides for durability. Although it isn't recommended for use in a imprinter, this card can be embossed or flat-card printed-ideal for use as an identification or promotional card. The 24-thickness card lasts between one and two years.

Deluxe

The 30 mil thickness brings the highest value and versatility at a reasonable cost. Both sides of the card are laminated for maximum durability. It can be embossed or flat-card printed. Attractive features such as holograms and foil processes can be added to enhance the card. The 30 mil thickness card meets the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Standards Organization (ISO) credit card standard. It can be used in all types of imprinters and point-of-sale equipment for convenient and secure transactions. This card lasts two to three years and can reach a much longer life time with our LifeGuard™ Cards.
